Been helping out the old man with his RT, just did an oil change, spark plugs, and a valve lash adjustment (which meant removing the magnesium valve covers), since he’s been putting it off for too long, and wanted it done. Now a throttle body sync test is in order, and bladiblahblah is left.

how much of a PITA as these things to work on? the *00 motor in the F isnt bad...but they torque the oil drain bolt to something STUPID like 40 NM.

95% of the PITA comes from the body panel removal, once that’s done, it’s not bad. I’ve been used to fixing his other bike, a 03 GS, biggest issue it had was that the drainplug was aluminum for whatever reason, and got rounded off after a few oil changes, we have a new one in now, since that’s out.
